Smooth Finish Stucco, Executed to Tolerance

The clean, modern look — flat, crisp walls executed with the prep and patience smooth finish demands.

Smooth finish is South Florida's modern look — flat planes, crisp shadow lines, color that reads like stone. It's also the least forgiving finish in the trade: every wave, trowel mark and lazy patch shows in afternoon light, which is why smooth work separates real finishers from the rest.

We install smooth finishes on new construction and renovations, convert textured walls to smooth, and repair existing smooth walls cleanly — the repair discipline most crews won't even attempt.

Smooth-finish work we take on

  • New construction and modern renovations
  • Converting textured exteriors to a smooth look
  • Clean, low-visibility repairs on existing smooth walls
  • Santa Barbara and light-skim variations
  • Entry features, columns and accent walls in smooth finish
Smooth Finish Stucco by Simon Stucco Services in South Florida
South Florida note: Smooth walls in this climate demand maintained sealants — there's no texture to hide a hairline, and wind-driven rain exploits any gap. Installed and maintained correctly, smooth finish performs beautifully here; we'll set you up with both.

How We Handle Smooth Finish Stucco

Flatten the canvas

Smooth lives or dies on substrate flatness — we level and true the base coat before any finish is considered.

Skim in passes

Finish material is applied in tight, controlled passes; patience here is what crisp walls are made of.

Work the light

We check the surface against raking light during finishing — the same light that will judge it every afternoon for years.

Seal & protect

Smooth finishes get coatings appropriate to exposure, because a finish this clean deserves to stay that way.

Smooth Finish Stucco — Common Questions

Why is smooth finish more expensive than textured?
Labor and skill. The substrate must be far flatter, the finish goes on in multiple careful passes, and there's no texture to forgive imperfection — you're paying for precision, and on this finish it's visible every day.
Can my textured home be converted to smooth?
Usually yes. We level the existing texture with base coats, then apply the smooth system over it. We'll assess your walls first — some textures convert easily, heavy ones take more buildup, and the estimate reflects exactly which yours is.
How do you repair smooth stucco without an obvious patch?
By refinishing a blended zone rather than spot-patching the hole. The patch is floated dead flush, then the finish is worked across a wider area so there's no edge for light to catch — slower than a spot patch, and the only method that truly blends.
